i was put onto a logo design competition brief for an education and testing app who had recently undergone a name and identity rebrand. they were after a new logo for their new name 'Synap' and so i got in touch with one of the guys involved and he supplied me with the brief outline.
i was interested in doing some design work that was a little different to the usual work i produce and so was happy to take the brief on. i began by rewriting the brief:

BRIEF TITLE: MY CQ’s
(SYNAP) BRAND LOGO COMPETITION BRIEF
|
|
Brief:
My CQ’s is an
app-based programme that offers students, professors, and general
intellectuals a platform to write, answer, and explore online quizzes on an
educational platform. They are in need of a new logo to reflect and promote
their name rebrand and to embody, to the user, the aims and ethos of the
app within educational development and behavioural change.
|
|
Background:
The app has been
around for a few years and is in the process of re-development and they
have highlighted the fact that their quiz algorithm is more in line with behavioural
change apps like weight loss apps and such. They promote the idea of
healthy competition as a promoting tool to get people to engage more in
education and knowledge.
|
|
Considerations:
- How the logo
will embody the companies aims and ethos
- How the logo
will appear at different sizes included app icon size
- How will the
logo catch the attention of the user or potential customers
|
|
Mandatory
Requirements:
- One logo
design with the inclusion of the name ‘Synap’
- A logo that
works at different sizes including app icon sizes
|
|
Target Audience:
- Teachers,
professors, students
- Those engaged
in the learning and quizzing community
- Those seeking
educational development and motivation
|
|
Tone of Voice:
- Professional and
sleek
- Modern and
simple
- Original and
eye catching
|
|
Deliverables:
- At least one
logo evidenced at different sizes relative to the eventual setting
