this brief, while for a friend, has taught me a lot about designer/client relationships and how to visualise or embody a clients personality and ethos. the brief helped me to develop my understanding of the communicative value of different aesthetic decisions and how graphic consideration, to such a fine degree, can alter what a brand says about an individual or company.
i developed a number of practical design skills including screen printing, cropping and mounting, hand rendering designs, and spray techniques.
i also improved, via this brief, in a number of digital design programmes like illustrator, photoshop, and indesign which was good to see because while i am comfortable in my hand rendered abilities i feel as though getting practice with the computer is always beneficial.
i had fun helping a friend and i always enjoy logo development so that was a bonus. i feel as though my consideration for speed and time management while maintaining quality were somewhat lacking but i completed everything before the client required the outcomes for her presentation.
next time i will work to a stricter schedule and also try to immerse myself is the subjects associated with the client a bit more. otherwise i am happy with this project and what i produced.
