i feel like this brief was important in my development of my ability to design purely using digital mediums. my usual method is to develop a logo concept by hand rendered methods and then to formalise it and neaten it up digitally. with this project i went straight onto the computer and developed the entire outcomes using digital methods which proved to me that i am able to successfully do such.
i explored colour well in line with a number of requirements and with considerations for existing colour schemes within various political brands. i also explored the use of digital textures and stencil/opacity based over lays which add new dimensions to the designs i produce.
i considered type, grid, layout and readability in line with promotional design in attempts to capture and interest the intended audience. i was also able to develop my understanding of client based communication and comprehension which has definitely improved as a result of this project. guiding the client to make good decisions while maintaining their choice freedom was something that i paid particular attention to.
next time i would make more of an effort to extend the branding to other formats, even though the client didn't need anything else, it would have been good practice for me to consider other design produce to develop. overall, however, i am happy with the progress and outcomes derived from this brief and would consider political activist design an interesting subject to work within.
