having spoken to jessica about the branding brief and having agreed that i would take on the project i began by writing a proper brief for the project:

BRIEF TITLE: JESSICA MARTIN PHOTOGRAPHY BRANDING

Brief:
The client, Jessica Martin, is a third year photography student at LCA. She will be graduating this year and, as such, is in need of a full personal/professional brand identity for her future business ventures and freelance photography. It is up to the designer to develop a critical understanding of the client and her style to then translate those themes into a working and appropriate brand.
Background:
Jessica Martin is a conceptually driven and focussed photographer who specialises is scenic, cultural, and sociological photography.  She has been developing her practice for a number of years now and is ready to offer the professional industry her skills.
Considerations:
  • How the designer will translate Jessica’s ethos into a working brand identity
  • What iconography/logo form might be appropriate to Jessica
  • What ephemera/paraphernalia might be produced as part of the brand design
Mandatory Requirements:
  1. Design of one working logo
  2. Design and production of business cards, letter heads, invoices
  3. Design and production of other relevant paraphernalia
