i began by establishing a variety of logo concepts i thought could work in line with the clients requests.
using illustrator and with consideration for negative space, flow, readability/legibility, and aesthetic structure i developed a number of ideas to present to the client.
this last one was a joke f.y.i !!!!
the client expressed that he was impressed with the speedy turn around of the proposals and we spoke about what he liked. he informed me that he really liked the red logo with the staggered, choppy effect and thought that it communicated the breakdown of communication and lack of clarity and truth in the political world today which i could see also.
he informed me of a few aesthetics that he liked, one of which was the look of an LCD screen when smashed which i could see the relevance of. he sent me an image:
i went on to develop a few concepts in line with what he had specified -
using the line tool to create a number of different coloiured and sized lines i then used the path finder tool to cut a negative stencil from the pattern to leave the fill within the letters that of the pattern.
the client liked the direction i was going in but felt that the logo and colour scheme were still too flat for what he was after. i understood his concern and decided to use the problem as the solution -
create a vectorised image using the picture he sent me as a visual guide.
i tried applying a light grey drop shadow to the logo which i think brings it out a bit more and gives contrast and separation to the surrouding space.
i also developed a black/white concept with a bounding box and explored some other possibilities with that to inform the client of the variations possible.
it was next a case of developing and producing other promotional material for the events. this can be found on a separate post
